Welcome! I am so proud and honored to be the new principal at Fox Chase Elementary School.  I am so excited to help lead this extraordinary school community. I feel very fortunate to be a part of this school and to support the students, families, and community.

This is my 17th year in School District 308.  Before coming to Fox Chase, I was an elementary assistant principal for the last 7 years at Wolf’s Crossing Elementary school and for 9 years as a teacher at Grande Park Elementary School where I taught both 4th and 5th grade. I am married with amazing children. They are 12 and 14 respectively.

I received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Illinois State University, Normal, IL in 2002.  In 2007 I received a Bachelor’s in Education from Aurora University, Aurora, IL.  And most recently I received a Master’s in Principal Leadership from St. Francis University, Joliet, IL.

I am so beyond excited to lead Fox Chase and provide the students the best opportunities in preparing them for the world ahead.  As the Principal, my door is always open, and I welcome input and collaboration.

I am honored to be joining the stellar team at Fox Chase Elementary and Oswego Community Unit School District 308, together, we will ensure a positive, safe, and strong school year for our students.  It is my great honor and privilege to be joining you at Fox Chase Elementary School as your new assistant principal. While this school year has already been full of change, I am confident that you all will find me to be a caring, dedicated, and friendly addition to your school community. The entire staff at Fox Chase is fully committed to helping your children grow academically, socially, and emotionally. I consider it a privilege to be able to join them in this work.

Prior to joining SD 308, I was a junior high English Language Arts Teacher/MTSS Team Leader in the Berwyn South School District 100.  While there, I developed and implemented a schoolwide intervention program as part of their district’s improvement plan.

I obtained a B.A. English, B.A. Philosophy from University of Toledo, Toledo, Ohio; a Juris Doctor from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, Chicago, Illinois; M.S.Ed. in Elementary Education from Northwestern University School of Education and Social Policy, Evanson, Illinois; and a M.S.Ed. in Educational Administration from Northern Illinois University, Naperville, Illinois.

In terms of my previous experience in education, I have always been driven by a dedication to promoting an equitable environment for all members of my community. Over the years, I have worked with students from preschoolers through seniors in high school, but most recently my experience comes as a middle school English Language Arts teacher and teacher leader. While I have absolutely loved working with middle school students, I am very excited to once again experience the fresh energy and passion for learning of elementary students!

A little about me: my husband and I live just up the road in Geneva where we recently bought a home with a nice, big yard for our two dogs. Penny and Pebbles are both rescued Beagle-mix pups, which means they have very powerful noses and do a great job of keeping us on our toes! We love taking them for long walks (or “sniffing adventures”) in our neighborhood, but sometimes we leave them behind while we go for long bike rides up and down the Fox River Trail.
